We define leadership training programs as programs that have been systematically designed to enhance leader knowledge, skills, abilities, and other components. Leadership training is traditionally focused on developing “. . .the collective capacity of organizational members to engage effectively in leadership roles and processes”. Roles refer to both formal and informal authority positionsand processes represent those that facilitate successful group and organizational performance. Leader development represents training initiatives aimed at individual-level concepts, whereas leadership development takes a more integrated approach that involves the interplay between leader’sfollowers and socially based concepts.
