Meet Technology, the presiding member of the KVM classroom. We have been successful in bringing technology to our classrooms with the introduction of interactive Whiteboards or Smart Boards. These allow students to interact with the lesson content while allowing teachers to integrate a range of resources with their lessons.
The classroom transforms into an interactive forum for sharing experiences among students, thus helping in widening their analytical faculties.
Classrooms are spacious, centrally air-conditioned, and have lighting arrangements as per international standards. The number of students in each class is restricted so that the teachers give individual attention to each student. Aesthetically designed furniture has been provided in each classroom, keeping in mind the comfort of the child. Each classroom of the Junior School has been tailor-made to cater to the creative needs of the tiny tots.
There are two well-equipped computer labs in the school. We have competent teachers to train the students in the latest advancements in technology and computing. Beginning from Junior School, we focus on keyboarding, word processing, and internet skills.
The computer labs are equipped with the following facilities:
- Multimedia systems
- 20” LCD monitors
- Supervised, Fast Internet connection round the clock
- Online UPS for system backup
- Networking environment
- A vast collection of educational software’s, catering to various subjects, for the use of teachers and students.
Technology is a boon and KVM has imbibed it in all possible ways to set the educational standards of a different equation. The curriculum incorporates teaching-learning methodologies which facilitate the process and break the monotony of traditional learning patterns. The students are updated with the latest modes of technology and are kept in tune with the current system. The exposure provided to the learners is maximized by the use of PowerPoint and Audio-Visual presentations, which make learning a stimulating and intriguing experience. The campus-wide broadband e-connectivity with Wi-Fi has facilitated learning in all areas. The use of online encyclopedias and reference material in the library also contributes immensely to the learning process.
For students to acquire the manual and mental skills associated with learning physics, the pupils are engaged in laboratory activities like taking the measurement of physical quantities with appropriate accuracy, recognition of factors that could affect the reliability of their measurements, inference and reasoning from their observations and develop the skill and ability to rationally defend their conclusions and predictions.
Butterfly field experiments with reference to topics related to the syllabus like the force of gravity, projectile motion, momentum, etc are conducted in the physics lab.
All Science Teachers and Students know that practical work is the ‘gem’ of science teaching. In the Biology laboratory at KVM Public School students are made to use the Anatomy models and understand different theories and concepts which otherwise are complex. The biology model emphasizes the development of conceptual understanding, critical thinking, rather than memorization of facts.
Students have different styles of learning. “Learning Style” refers to the way individuals perceive, interact with, and respond to the learning environment. Models, Diagrams, Charts, Videos, Rare photographs, posters and satellite images help children to understand Biology. The student's reasoning skills are honed for constructivist learning and encouraging cognitive development.
The curriculum that is being followed currently in KVM covers a wide range of topics in Chemistry, with plenty of opportunities for practical work, and provides first-hand experience in observation and manipulation.
Objectives that are achieved through the use of the chemistry laboratory are attitudes – for example, curiosity, interest, risk-taking, objectivity, precision, confidence, perseverance, satisfaction, responsibility, consensus, collaboration, and liking for science.
The school library is a learning resource center in the widest sense as it houses information resources, expansive reading material, and digital data with internet access. The library is well stocked with a wide collection of books and CDs on a variety of subjects. Each computer station has access to the internet. Children are encouraged to use the internet for reference work to prepare their projects. There are surveillance stations to monitor the students' stations and to ensure that undesirable sites are not explored.
The school library fosters the development of life-long learning abilities and love for reading in the students. It also provides teachers with instructional material and professional resources.
Observation Sessions, Psychological Assessments, and Special Classes are held for children identified with academic or emotional concerns. Openness, receptivity, mutual and constant monitoring in sharing facilitate the smooth and natural development of our young learners.
The school has its own fleet of deluxe buses. All the buses run on Diesel mode and are equipped with the latest communication facilities. Each bus has a driver, a conductor, and a security guard, for the complete safety and security of the children. The routes and timing of the entire fleet of buses are monitored with the help of the Global Positioning System installed in the Control Room in the School premises.
"Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play."
Mike Singletary
Sports and games make you more fit. They make your muscles stronger and keep the bones, heart, and lungs in good condition. When you play group sports you learn to become a Team Player.
We at KVM strongly emphasize indoor as well as outdoor games to foster the holistic development of the child.
A strict academic curriculum can lead to stunted growth of an individual. There has been a lot of emphasis on co-curricular activities in order to ensure the holistic development of an individual. These activities aid in a student’s personality development, giving him/her a chance to thrive beyond the subjects prescribed in the syllabus. The school offers facilities for Yoga, Aerobics, Drawing and Painting, Dance, Music, Quizzes, Debates, Essay Writing, Poem Recitals, Story Writing and Spelling Bees.
